Quackgammon is a family-friendly variation of backgammon brought to you by America's classic board game specialist Endless Games. The never-before-seen travel game will be introduced at the upcoming New York Toy Fair in February 2009, with shipment ready for June. It looks like a classic board game and is fun for the whole family.
Quackgammon is a much simpler version of classic backgammon. Its design allows for quick-play that can be enjoyed by the entire family, especially young children. A couple of fun facts that distinguish this version, among others: SMALL FLOCK OF FLYING FOWL: While in the traditional backgammon, players move their 15 checkers (also known historically as stones, men, counters, pawns, or chips) around the traditional board; in Quackgammon, each player moves his or her flock of three "mallards" around a peaceful lake. SAFETY IN NUMBERS: Rather than gaining protection by having multiple checkers on one specific "point", Quackgammon fowl are instead protected by staying positioned next to each other. Otherwise, that fowl is quite simply a sitting duck. Quackgammon is part of Endless Games' popular "Quick Picks" line of affordable, travel-sized, family games. It has an MSRP of $9.99 and is recommended for ages eight and up.
