Updated Rankings for EBGT 2008

While backgammon Giant Matvey "Falafel" Natanzon (Israel) is still holding the second place position, Fabrizio Lo Surdo (Italy) is the new leader of the ranking due to his great victory at the "6th French Open". Georgian top player Nodar Gagua is catching up at third place.

The upcoming "20th City of Venice " is sure to rock the current leaderboard. Mathematically, the top 15 in the current ranking still have the chance to end up within the first 3 places, and to win the title of "European Master" plus a portion of the prize pool.

It seems like "Falafel" won´t be able to participate in Venice and this will make the thrill in the championship last til the very end.
The overall

winners will be awarded at the first stop of the "European
Backgammon Tour 2009".
