Upcoming Tournaments in US and Europe

October is a busy month for backgammon enthusiasts both in Europe and the US. In Europe, some notable tournaments include The Swiss Championships, The 16th Irish Open, The Finnish Open and the 6th French Open. By far the most coveted tournament this month will be The European Couples Open Championship which will run simultaneously with The French Open. State tournaments tend to draw quite an audience because it is a good place to spot new talent and rising stars. Most winners move on to take part in the nationwide championships and later even compete in the World Backgammon Championship.
