World Series Of Backgammon On TV

World Series Of Backgammon® (WSOB) is now on Eurosport 1 and 2 through internet television broadcaster Joost.com. As part of the UK Masters, the WSOB was held at the Casino at the Empire in London. There was excitement, action and tension at every corner. Between November 29 and December 29 the images of this amazing backgammon tournament will be screened at night on Eurosport 2.

The WSOB UK Masters which was held on December 10 2007, will be previewed in Eurosport 1 at 22:00 (GMT) on December 23 2007. Following that, the main games will be screened on Eurosport 2 every night between December 26 – 29. Beginning January 2008, the Copenhagen and Cannes series will also be broadcasted on Joost.com.

The UK Masters is part of the WSOB and has witnessed hundreds of professional and amateur backgammon players come together to compete in this world renowned competition. The prize in this tournament is the second largest after the Monte Carlo World Championship $150,000.

Players filled the tournament looking to watch and learn from winner John Clark and world famous poker and backgammon player, Gus Hansen. Anyone who missed the live action can tune into Eurosport to catch the professionals at play again and pick up some handy tips.

The WSOB consists of four parts with each leg being held in different parts of the world including London, Copenhagen and Cannes. The anticipated prize pool of $600,000 has already attracted some of the worlds best and most talented backgammon players.

WSOB has taken on a partnership with Snowie Group to use Snowie software to calculate and forecast results during the tournament.
